A day excursion is a private one-day tour from your hotel, the airport or a cruise terminal to a Sri Lankan attraction — such as Sigiriya, Kandy or Yala — returning the same evening. It is ideal for travelers with limited time, long layovers or those who prefer to base themselves in one hotel.
How long are your Sri Lanka day tours?
Most private excursions run between 8 and 14 hours depending on the destination. Colombo city tours average 8–10 hours, while Sigiriya and Yala day trips often run 12–14 hours to allow enough time on site.
Can you pick us up from the airport for a layover tour?
Yes. We specialise in Colombo airport layover excursions. Meet our driver at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), enjoy your day, and we will have you back at the terminal at least three hours before your onward flight.
Are entrance tickets included in the tour price?
Private transport, fuel, tolls and your chauffeur-guide are included. Entrance fees and safari jeep charges are typically paid directly on the day so you only pay for the sites you choose to enter. We advise on the latest fees before you book.
Which excursion is best for a first visit to Sri Lanka?
If you only have one day, the Sigiriya & Dambulla excursion captures iconic heritage, while Kandy is best for culture and Yala is unbeatable for wildlife. For a gentle introduction, Colombo or Galle are easier day trips with shorter driving times.
